Nigeria At 66: Sokoto APC Chairman Salutes Nigerians, Commends Tinubu, Aliyu, Wamakko

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sokoto State chapter, Alhaji Haruna Sarkin-Gobir Adiya, on behalf of the State Working Committee, party leaders, members and supporters across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state, has felicitated Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message issued in Sokoto, Adiya felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, the APC leader in the state and Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and all Nigerians.

He said as Nigeria marks 66 years as an indivisible and sovereign nation, citizens must thank Almighty Allah for sustaining the country’s unity, peace and resilience.

He said the anniversary is a reminder of the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and the need for all Nigerians to remain patriotic, united and committed to building a greater Nigeria.

Adiya noted with pride that under the purposeful leadership of Governor Ahmed Aliyu, Sokoto State has witnessed remarkable progress in security, infrastructural development, education, healthcare delivery and grassroots governance, in line with the party’s manifesto.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his people-oriented leadership, as well as Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for his fatherly guidance, unity of purpose and sustained support for the party.

Adiya appealed to Nigerians to have renewed confidence in the incumbent APC governments at all levels, insisting that the APC prioritises the wellbeing, comfort and security of all law-abiding citizens.

The APC chairman further noted that the APC, as the largest party in Africa, would continue to ensure good governance and would never engage in any act capable of truncating democracy.

On 2027, he maintained that the APC remains the party to beat, urging Nigerians not to despair and not to allow themselves to be dissuaded from voting for APC candidates at all levels during the forthcoming general elections.

According to Alhaji Haruna Sarkin-Gobir, doing so means patriotically opting for the consolidation of the giant strides achieved so far in Sokoto State and across Nigeria.

He therefore called on members of the party and all citizens to continue to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government and the 9-Point Smart Agenda of the Sokoto State Government and to sustain prayers for enduring peace, unity and socio-economic prosperity of Sokoto State and the nation at large.
